Western North Carolina Highlands Celtic Festival, Father's Day Activities & More

This Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 host the 4th Annual Western North Carolina (WNC) Highland WNC Highland Celtic FestivalCeltic Festival at its new venue at the Asheville Outdoor Center on 521 Amboy Road in Asheville on the banks of the French Broad River. The festival hours are Friday from 4-11p.m. and Saturday from 8a.m. to midnight.

The festival offers free parking and admission is $20 in advance, $25 at the gate. Children 12 and under accompanied by a paid adult admission get in to the festival for free. (Please note that internet advance ticket sales close at noon on June 13.)

The WNC Highland Celtic Festival offers live Celtic music and dance, authentic Celtic food and drink, Highland microbrews, Celtic vendors, Border Collie demonstrations, clans convening, dance demonstrations, and sheep-herding demonstrations. There is a full lineup of performers such as Albannach, Rathkeltair, Clan na Gael, Cutthroat Shamrock, Marcille Wallis & Friends, Stirling Bridge, My Three Kilts, Montreat Scottish Pipes & Drums, and the Moynihan School of Irish Dance. With Father's Day this occurring this weekend, the festival is a great way to spend some time with Dad. Don't forget about the other fun Father's Day events happening this weekend such as the Movies in the Meadows and free admission for dads at Chimney Rock State Park.

Also think about attending the Asheville's Father's Fest 2 on Saturday, June 15 from noon to 6p.m. at the Highland Brewery in Asheville. This is a special day for dads and kids to spend together. There is plenty of food and fun to be had. Take a look at all of the Asheville's Father's Fest events on the schedule. Early bird tickets are $12.50 per family; $18 per family at the door.
