USA Today Names Asheville as One of Six Small Cities with Big Food Scenes
Posted On Wednesday, March 12, 2014
Asheville has done it again! It has been recognized for its culinary zeal by USA Today's Six Small Cities with Big Food Scenes article.
"Despite only having 85,000 residents, Asheville is a city where bohemian, mountain, and southern roots intersect. The cultural impact on Asheville's food scene results in a dedication to local and seasonal offerings that push the boundaries of the plate."
We couldn't agree more. An Asheville dining experience is like no other and leaves you wanting to come back for more (and more and more). There are so many spectacular eateries throughout the city; it's hard to decide where to go during your time here. The logical choice is to come back again and again to revisit old favorites and explore new ones.
The USA Today article makes mention of a few of our local favorites including vegan and vegetarian eateries like The Laughing Seed Café and Rosetta's Kitchen, as well as places to go for the adventurous meat-lover's palate such as Seven Sows Bourbon and Larder and Rhubarb, in addition to other Asheville hot spots MG Road, Cucina24, Table, Cúrate, and Early Girl Eatery for breakfast.
If some of those restaurant names sound familiar, they are. We made mention a few weeks back of two of Asheville's chefs currently in the running for coveted James Beard Foundation Awards to be announced in New York City in May. We are excitedly awaiting the results.
If you'd like to experience an Asheville culinary adventure of your very own, it's an ideal time to book an Asheville getaway. Spring is on the way and in addition to the gorgeous weather and fabulous fare, there is so much to see and do. The mountain scenery is breathtaking, the downtown streets are bustling, the cultural scene is vibrant, and the local events and festivals are not-to-be-missed.
