Summer Music Festivals Heat Up in Asheville

Summertime in Asheville is a beautiful thing. In addition to the gorgeous scenery that surrounds you, you'll also find that June puts summer music festival season into full swing. If outdoor concerts, amazing live music and a spirited festival atmosphere are all things you enjoy—Asheville is the place for you.
Here are some of our favorite local music festivals and outdoor concert venues. Experience them all!
All Go West Music Festival in West Asheville
Saturday, June 7 from 11a.m. to 2p.m. you'll find the annual All Go West Music Festival. It's a celebration of the uniqueness and diversity of the West Asheville culture. The festival highlights area businesses, artists and non-profits. All Go West offers 33 featured bands on one outdoor stage and two indoor stages at Isis Music Hall and The Mothlight. Bring your friends and family to this free, local festival.
Downtown After 5 on North Lexington Avenue
Downtown Asheville offers Downtown After 5 every third Friday from May through September. North Lexington Avenue and I-240 is the place to be for the free live music, food vendors and all of the Downtown After 5 festivities. June 20 headlines crowd favorites Drivin' N' Cryin' with their Southern rock stylings. They've shared the stage with Lynryd Skynryd, Neil Young and Sonic Youth. It promises to be a great night. Shindig on the Green at Pack Square Park
Enjoy the music and dance traditions of Southern Appalachia at Shindig on the Green in Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville on Saturday evenings beginning June 28 and continuing through August 30. The fun starts around 7p.m. and continues well into the evening. Stage shows and informal jam sessions happen throughout the park. You are encouraged to participate so bring your instruments, your family, your friends, a blanket or lawn chair, and take part in the free festivities. Concessions are available for purchase.
RiverMusic on the French Broad River
The RiverMusic concerts began on May 30 and continue once a month on a Friday evening through September. In addition to live music along the French Broad River, RiverMusic also features two local breweries each night and a delicious selection of fare from the onsite food trucks.
