Spend Veterans Day in Asheville

Veterans Day is quickly approaching on Monday, November 11. Perhaps you have the day off. Why not make it a long weekend and spend some time enjoying the city of Asheville?

Stroll the downtown streets, indulge in some of your favorite fare at the local eateries, grab a cup of delicious coffee to warm you up on a cool autumn day, peruse the unique shops and start your holiday shopping early. Sound good? Make your plans now! Staying locally in one of our downtown Asheville vacation rentals gives you the combined benefit of a relaxing vacation-home-away-from-home with all of the amenities paired with the prime location that puts you close and convenient to all that Asheville has to offer. If you happen to cross paths with a veteran, please take a moment to thank him for his service (not just on Veterans Day, but on any day).
Free Admission to Chimney Rock for Veterans
Speaking of veterans, if you are a veteran, reservist, retired or currently active in the military, take advantage of a free visit to Chimney Rock State Park anytime during November 7-11. Be sure to bring your military ID or proof of service. For those visiting the park with you, they receive an additional discount of $2 off per adult and $1 off per youth (up to 6 people). If you can't make it to Chimney Rock this weekend for the free admission, the park offers a military discount on admission year-round.

The Biltmore Estate is already in the holiday spirit. You may want to add it to your travel itinerary. The majestic estate is beautifully decorated for the season and welcomes visitors to enjoy daytime and evening Christmas celebrations. You can read more about the estate's holiday activities on Biltmore's events page.

Will you be here in Asheville this Veterans Day weekend or sometime soon? If so, let us know! We love hearing from you and want to know about your Asheville adventures. A special thank you to all of our veterans and the service and sacrifice they have given on our country's behalf. We appreciate you. Happy Veterans Day!
