New Belgium Brewing Brings Clips Beer & Film Festival to Asheville

On Friday evening, September 6 from 7-10pm, the New Belgium Brewing Company's Clips Beer & Film Festival comes to Roger McGuire Green in Pack Square Park. Downtown Asheville hosts this national beer Clips Beer & Film Festivaland film fest and offers festival-goers the opportunity to try beers from New Belgium's Lips of Faith series, along with some of its other most popular classics. Combine that with the chance to screen some short films made by New Belgium fans themselves, and you have the makings of a great evening.

The Clips Beer & Film Festival had an attendance of 16,400 attendees last year. This beer-toting, film-traveling, nonprofit-benefiting show travels to 21 cities coast-to-coast. All of the proceeds from the beer sales benefit a local community nonprofitin our case it's Asheville on Bikes.

New Belgium selects about 20 films each season. This year, the chosen films include mastering the technique of dice rolling; the quest for the ultimate full moon shot; a duel to be the hippest hipster; and homebrewing in a small New York City apartment.

You can find a listing of featured beers here under the Libations/Eats tab. There are also favorite New Belgium classics on hand and available in 3oz samples or a 12oz pour. Local volunteers serve up the suds, and we promise that there's plenty of beer fun to be had along with other traveling tricks and contests.

Local food vendors are at the festival as well, so bring your appetite. You'll find good eats served up by Gypsy Queen, Avery Dogs & Pho Ya Belly.

The New Belgium Clips Beer & Film Festival offers free admission making a it great event to invite your friends and family along to. Grab some low chairs and blankets to bring with you to the festival for your comfort. Once the sun sets, the films start rolling and it's time to cozy up and enjoy the show.

No outside alcohol is allowed at the venue, but picnics are welcome (though we're not sure why you'd need either with the fabulous food and libations offered at the festival). Free water is available at locations throughout the festival; just bring your water bottle. Leashed dogs are welcome to join in the fun. You can read about the details and other festival FAQs here.
