It's never too late to plan an escape to Asheville! With Mother's Day approaching quickly, you may be wondering what to do on this special day. Asheville is the perfect place to spend the day, weekend or as long as your schedule allows. Make some special memories with Mom and give her the gift she wants most—time spent with loved ones.
Asheville offers a little something for everyone. Here you'll find fabulous dining, abundant shopping, eclectic local festivals, a focus on the arts, lively theater productions, unlimited outdoor adventure, a rich historical scene, and that's just the beginning.
In addition to what you can find happening on any given day in Asheville, there are some special Mother's Day events that you might want to check out. Here's what's happening.
Free Admission to Chimney Rock State Park for Moms
Is Mom the adventurous type? Does she love being immersed in the outdoors? You might consider bringing her to Chimney Rock State Park this weekend. Gather up the family and make it a day's adventure. Chimney Rock State Park is offering free admission for Mom on Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11 with the purchase of one adult admission. If you come on Saturday, treat her to a Spring Wildflower Walk for no additional charge from 11a.m. to noon.
You must present the online coupon in print or on your mobile device for Mom's free admission. Why you're there, why not print out the Father's Day coupon, too?
Free Admission to the Biltmore Estate on Mother's Day
Bring Mom to the grand and historic Biltmore Estate on Sunday, May 11 to take advantage of their Mother's Day special. Mom receives free admission to the Estate with the purchase of one regular adult admission. Stroll the pristine grounds, enjoy lunch together, shop in Antler's Village, and take a winery tour.
It's the ideal setting to celebrate such a special day. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the special moments and the breathtaking beauty.
More Mother's Day Activities
You'll find an abundance of ways to spend the day. Consider the Dahlia Tuber and Mum Plant Sale happening at the North Carolina Arboretum on May 10. Come back the next day for the Mother's Day Buffet at the Savory Thyme Café from 11a.m. to 3p.m. on Sunday. (Reservations are strongly recommended.)
If Mom is an art lover, she will enjoy the the River Arts District Second Saturdays for the opportunity to see local Asheville artists in action, tour their studios and see ongoing demonstrations all day long. The artistic event begins at 10a.m.
Pampering is always a good option to show your appreciation for all of the hard work, loving kindness, and unending giving that mothers do on a daily basis. Asheville's Salt Cave is a one-of-a-kind experience for the mind, body and soul. There are also plenty of other Asheville spa experiences available. Check them out!
Make the most of your time with Mom by extending your stay beyond a day. Whether you need accommodations for a large family gathering or reunion, a cozy mountain cabin, or a vacation rental right in downtown Asheville, you'll find exactly what you're looking for complemented by the amenities you desire.
