Posted On Wednesday, February 26, 2014
Asheville's restaurants and chefs have an ongoing presence in the headlines, and for good reason. Vacationers and residents alike savor the world-class cuisine found locally throughout the city. Whatever your palate desires, it can be found here. The diversity of Asheville's cuisine is only second to the culinary quality found at the local establishments and showcased by the talents of their respective chefs.
We'd like to congratulate two of Asheville's finest chefs and restauranteurs, who are currently named as semifinalists in this year's coveted James Beard Foundation (JBF) awards.
Katie Button of Cúrate tapas bar and Nightbell nightclub is nominated for the third time and is semifinalist in the Rising Star Chef category of the JBF awards. The Rising Star Chef award recognizes the up-and-coming younger generation of chefs throughout the nation.
Meherwan Irani of Chai Pani Indian street food and MG Road bar and lounge is nominated for Best Chef in the Southeast.
Both Button and Irani have been featured in Food & Wine magazine. Show your support and get a taste of why these chefs are award winners by stopping by and trying their mouthwatering cuisine for yourself.
