5 Father's Day Activities That Will Make You Dad's Favorite

Guess what holiday is nearly upon us! That’s right! It’s the man-in-your-life’s favorite day! Father’s Day is a wonderful reminder that we need to always appreciate the dads in our lives. Asheville is the perfect place to take the dad (or husband, or grandfather) you are trying to show your appreciation to!

Asheville is the ultimate destination for any beer and golf loving dad - which is most every dad. To help you take advantage of all that Asheville has to offer, we have compiled a list of 5 Father’s Day activities to help you earn big points with dad.

1). Take Dad to Brunch at Ambrozia

Father’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the fathers in our lives, but that celebration doesn’t mean that Mom needs to work extra hard to put out a beautiful breakfast for the whole family. So, instead of leaving Mom to slave away in the kitchen, take the whole family out for brunch at Ambrozia! A neighborhood oriented and family friendly restaurant owned by the chef, Ambrozia is hosting a special Father’s Day Brunch, with meat and potatoes on the menu just to delight dad.

2). Savor a Round of Golf

A round of golf is one of the most traditional Father’s Day activities, and for good reason! Most dads savor the quiet of the game, along with the ever-present challenge no matter their skill level. A great place to take dad for a round of golf this Father’s Day is Broadmoor Golf Links. Set in the French Broad River Valley in the midst of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this beautiful course is perfect for golfers of all skill levels. If you would like to read more about the fabulous golf courses that we have in Asheville, check out this blog post of ours here.

3). Take in Some Beauty at the Biltmore

The Biltmore is the perfect place to take the classy dad in your life on Father’s Day. The gardens are perfect in June for exploring under the still-not sweltering sun. Plus, dad is sure to love the winery if not the gardens and the house! As a special Father’s Day treat, dads get to come in free! In addition, dads get a a free premium tasting of three different wines at the winery.

4). Thrill to Some Outdoor Adventure

Sometimes there is just nothing more bonding for a family than some outdoor adventure together! Father’s Day is all about bonding with the dads in our lives, as well as celebrating them. This Father’s Day, get out with the entire family and take a whitewater rafting trip down the French Broad river! If you don’t feel like getting wet before heading to dinner, there is also the delightful option of ziplining - an activity sure to appeal to all age groups in your family. You can book both a whitewater rafting trip or a ziplining trip through French Broad Adventures.

5). Enjoy a Taste of Dinner (or Dinner Theater) at Lex 18

Once you are cleaned up after your outdoor fun, it is time to think about dinner! A delightfully fun place to take dad for dinner on Father’s Day is Lex 18. This charming jazz & blues bar transports you to the roaring 20s, with its live music, delicious drinks, and a speakeasy feel. They serve fresh Southern American cuisine and fabulous moonshine cocktails, along with anything else you could want from a full bar. On Father's Day, Lex 18 is hosting one of its dinner theater events, Father Knows Best. With this live vintage radio drama and music show they will be serving a classic menu reminiscent of grandma's cooking.

Father's Day is a special time set aside to bond with the dads in our lives and celebrate all that they do for us day in and day out. Often under-appreciated for the role they play in their children's lives, dads deserve a day of indulgence! So, get out in Asheville and enjoy a wonderful day filled with family bonding, laughter, and fun! We can't wait to see you! Have a fabulous Father's Day!
