3 Best Spots to Enjoy the Sparkle of the Stars
Do you remember the simple pleasure of star gazing? Most likely, you haven’t taken the time to just lie on a blanket and gaze up at the night sky recently, being a busy adult and all. But you most likely remember the delight of gazing up into the sparkling, vast beyond.
When you got lost looking at the distant brilliance, it seemed anything was possible. You and life were limitless! Would you like to recapture that feeling now? Well, guess, what? You can! All you have to do is find the perfect spot to lose yourself in the vast and sparkling beyond, dreaming about something other than your day-to-day tasks. And, the perfect spot for you to do such star gazing is at one of our cabins in Asheville, NC.
1). Your Deck
The most perfect and easily accessible place from which to view stars and soak up the magic of endless possibility is your deck! If you are an early riser, you can slip out onto your beautiful front porch or spacious back deck. With the later sunrise, you can catch the last of the lingering stars without out waking up too desperately early. Take a delicious, steaming cup of coffee out with you. Wrap yourself in a soft chenille blanket from home, and enjoy waking up slowly as you gaze at the brilliant majestic beauty before you. After all, it is darkest right before the dawn.
Whether or not you wake early or go to bed late, you can enjoy the stars in the evening from your balcony! Especially with the increasingly early sunset time. Why, even your kids can enjoy the stars without staying up past their bedtime. You might even find a shooting star to wish upon with your wee ones.
2). The Blue Ridge
If you are feeling a little more adventurous, and would like to get out past your porch to see the stars, then we have the perfect spot for you. A drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway is one of the best ways to soak up a sunset leading into sparklingly dark brilliance.
Since the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is easily accessible from any part of Asheville, is away from city (and country) lights, you will have an especially brilliant view of the stars. An added bonus to taking a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to stargaze, if you have any little children, is that your kids just might fall asleep and leave you in quiet to soak up some rejuvenation. If your kids do fall asleep, the Parkway has many lovely pullouts so that you can park and gaze, without trying to take peaks at the stars while you are driving.
3). A Mountain Peak
After a beautiful drive along the Blue Ridge, you might long for a little more adventurous, freeing star gazing. If so, then we have the perfect adventure for you: hiking Mount Pisgah. At only just over 2 and 1/2 miles, the trail isn’t overly challenging. Meaning that it is perfect for an after-dinner walk. And when you reach the summit, you will have a fabulous, breathtaking view.
