2nd Annual Movie on the Meadows at Chimney Rock State Park: Last of the Mohicans


It's that time of year again! Bring your friends and family out to watch an outdoor showing of Last of the Last of the Mohicans at Chimney Rock State ParkMohicans, an epic romantic adventure starring Daniel Day-Lewis, in the very spot where the last 17 minutes of the movie were filmed. Enjoy the beauty of Hickory Nut Gorge's rock cliffs and 404-foot waterfall on the big screen and all around you!

On Saturday, June 15 make plans to come to Chimney Rock State Park for Movie on the Meadows: Last of the Mohicans for an evening filled with big-screen adventure while immersed in the beautiful outdoor setting of the park. Bring a blanket or chair and a flashlight to make yourself comfortable in front of the huge outdoor screen.

The gate opens at 7:30p.m. and the movie begins at 9p.m. Capacity fills at the first 250 cars. Event parking is $12 per car. Advance tickets are on sale June 1-14 only at Lake Lure Ingles for $9 per car. Annual passholders to Chimney Rock State Park get in for $8 per car. Get complimentary parking with same-day paid park admission.

Movie on the MeadowsPre-show entertainment, concessions and movie merchandise are also offered that evening, including Daniel Day-Lewis' original outfit and moccasins on display at the Sky Lounge. This event is sponsored by Ingles Markets, Mast General Store and Southern Outdoor Cinema.

Also offered at the park that same day at 3:15p.m. and 4:45p.m. are guided hikes to see the filming locations from Last of the Mohicans. The limit is 20 people and sign-up is first-come, first-served starting at 1p.m. on Saturday at the Sky Lounge. There is no additional cost for the hikes with paid admission to the park. Brochures are also available for self-guided hikers. Hikes begin at the Sky Lounge.
