George Vanderbilt, the creator of the grand Vanderbilt mansion and estate in Asheville, was a book lover. in fact, he had a personal library that contained more than 22,000 beautiful volumes, and he counted the leading authors of his time amongst his personal friends. In honor of Vanderbilt’s love of books, they are displaying costumes from period films based upon some of the special books in Vanderbilt's collection. Biltmore Blooms


Spring has come early this year, due to the unseasonably warm weather we have been having. Which means that the Biltmore is getting ready to celebrate spring early with is annual Biltmore Blooms festival! It will run this year from March 20th through May 25th. On Friday, March 24th, the Biltmore invites you to join them in tasting their first release of their Spring Wine. This year, it will be a beautiful Rose that is full of fruity notes of persimmon and blood orange, which are two of the fruits most bountiful in markets right now. A wine glass will be included as a souvenir of your delicious evening out.

Lake Lure Arts Festival
